Abstract :
Methods are described for the accurate determination of resistor load corrections through measurement of the resistor load coefficients. Consideration is given to the usual case of an approximately linear relationship between the load correction and the loading, and the effects on the accuracy of measurement of the magnitude and duration of the applied load and the type of bridge circuit used are analysed. Bridge-circuit methods for the accurate determination of load coefficients and their differences are described, and the limits of error typical standard resistors are shown to be near 1 part in 107 per watt. The effect of load-correction errors on the total limits of accuracy in resistance measurement is briefly considered.
