Abstract :
The authors reply that the first sentence of the conjecture (numbered 5), as stated by Dr. Knockaert (see ibid., vol.48, no.12, p.3585-86, 2000) in his comments, was proven first by Dembo et al. (1991). This they discovered in March 1999. Furthermore, Dr. M. Doroslovacki of George Washington University pointed out in March 1999 that a time sequence used by Donoho et al. (1989) was a counter-example to conjecture 5 in that paper. They correspondingly revised their conjecture to the improved conjecture presented.
