Abstract :
Orientation estimation is an essential step in autonomous navigation, automatic target recognition, part handling, and many other machine vision applications. A procedure is presented to estimate the orientation of the target using spectral energy distribution in the Fourier domain. The performance of this technique is determined by conducting simulation experiments on a set of infrared images containing military targets
