Abstract :
The paper presents an introduction to existing methods of network synthesis which use active components. A detailed development of Linvill´s method, using a negative-impedance convertor, is given. The advantages of using restricted solutions of the approximation problem are discussed, and are illustrated by practical examples. Emphasis is placed on minimising the sensitivity of the response of the network to changes in its active and passive components.
