Abstract :
The generation of 2 ps transform-limited pulses in a frequency-shifted fibre laser is demonstrated. Pulses trapped by the edge of the gain spectrum of the amplifier result in stable generation, thus excluding the need for bandpass filter-limiting pulse shortening
