Abstract :
We present a simplified model for quick estimation of the ultimate capacity of subcarrier multiplexed lightwave system using M-QAM. This analytical model assumes a directly modulated laser diode under relative intensity noise limitation and clipping distortion. Our results show very good agreement with those obtained using full analysis.
