General design of ladder networks with arbitrarily distributed uniform losses between coils and capacitors

Two methods of design of ladder networks with uniform losses arbitrarily distributed between inductances and capacitances are described. The fundamental principles of design, on a loss-free-network basis, and the multiplicity of solutions are analysed and discussed with examples. The results of the synthesis are given explicitly for application to low-pass analogue systems.
