Abstract :
The theory of identification of Preisach parameters has been applied to two types of magnetic recording tapes along the easy and hard directions. The metal evaporated (ME) tape along the hard axis is identified as a three-quadrant medium. The implications for understanding the position of the maximum magnetic aftereffect decay rate are discussed
