Abstract
An extension of the micromagnetic fluctuation theory is used to model the thermal excitations of spin wave modes in Co based magnetic/non-magnetic (M/NM) multilayers. Results are obtained for samples with continuous and granular magnetic layers, clearly demonstrating thermal excitations of increasing amplitude and involving higher frequencies as the temperature is increased. Also, the response is greater at lower values of the external field
