    T. C. Lennox and E. V. De Blieux in a very interesting paper “A D-C Transformer,” published in the Transactions section of the September 1938 issue of Electrical Engineering on pages 554 to 558, describe a device using a mechanical commutator in conjunction with stationary transformers to transform direct current from one voltage to another.
