Abstract :
A compact 40 Gbit/s demultiplexing receiver based on integrated tandem electroabsorption modulators is described. Error-free operation and a receiver sensitivity of 27 dBm are achieved, while the feasibility of this device as an 80 Gbit/s demultiplexing receiver is reported.
