  • Abstract
    The finite thickness of the ground plane is taken into account to improve the cavity model, and also because a thick ground plane may be a mechanical support for thin substrates and allow reporting of monolithic microwave integrated circuitry. Three simple methods are considered and the results are compared to experiments. One of these methods gives particularly good results and is used to investigate the effect of thickness on impedance matching
