Abstract
The authors present a new concept: “adaptive optimal reclosure” under transmission line faults by integrating the adaptive and optimal reclosure techniques. Simulation studies prove that the proposed technique is able to first detect the persistence time of the fault path arc and then capture the optimal reclosure time, enhancing system stability
