Abstract :
The authors propose a simple optical gate that uses an electroabsorption modulator driven by a high-speed and high-saturation output photodiode. The photodiode generates a 10 GHz short electrical pulse larger than 2 Vpp and directly drives the modulator. The optical gate demonstrates as 40 Gbit/s 4:1 demultiplexing operation
