  • Abstract
Monte Carlo methods are used to simulate a spatial model of uniform upconversion and commensurate excited-state deputation in high-concentration Er3+-doped solids. It is found that the topology of the impurity sublattice affects the value of the upconversion coefficient, a result in accord with recent measurement on sample prepared with identical host composition and ion concentration
