Plasma densities due to hollow electron beams

Abstract :
Ion densities in the drift region of a tubular electron beam have been calculated for pressure ranges from 10¿6 to 10¿4 torr. The ion density produces a potential well which traps slow electrons on the axis of the system. Experimental results of the current density of slow electrons are given.
