Abstract :
In this letter, a continuous-wave (CW) continuously wavelength-tunable laser source employing a self-injected Fabry-Pérot laser diode (FP-LD) is achieved and investigated experimentally. Through carefully tuning the fiber Fabry-Pérot tunable filter (FFP-TF) and chip temperature of the FP-LD, 80 C-band International Telecommunication Union (ITU) wavelengths with 50-GHz mode spacing were obtained with a good performance of the output peak power >;-4.74 dBm (ΔPmax = 2.40 dB) and optical sidemode suppression ratio (SMSR) >;41 dB.
