Abstract :
A new configuration is introduced which can be used in active-RC-network synthesis. It uses an ideal voltage-controlled voltage amplifier having a negative gain of order unity and a voltage- or a current-inversion negative-impedance convertor. Three synthesis procedures using the configuration are described. The sensitivity is minimised using coefficient sensitivities; for a particular transfer function, some alternative measures of sensitivity are used. Methods for reducing the number of passive elements are given. The procedures are illustrated by examples and by designing delay networks; in addition, the synthesis of active filters is briefly considered. The three procedures are finally compared.
