Abstract :
The IEEE Oceanic Engineering Society (OES) presents two major awards annually to recognize individuals for their service to the society and for their technical contributions to the ocean community at large. They are the Distinguished Service Award (DSA) and the Distinguished Technical Achievement Award (DTAA). Each award is presented at the fall conference during the OES luncheon. The awards include a certificate, a plaque, a watch, and placement of the person??s name on the historical list of past recipients on the OES website. Nomination forms and related instructions are available on the OES website (http://www.oceanicengineering.org). The nomination procedure opens in January and runs until May 1, annually. Two separate committees consisting of officers and senior members of the society select the awardee from the nominees submitted. The specific membership of the committees can be found on the society website. All completed nomination forms should be forwarded to the Junior Past President of the society (James Barbera: j.barbera@ieee.org).
