Abstract :
F.A. Moreira and J.R. Marti comment on the paper by C. Dufor (see ibid., vol.15, no.2, p.610-15, 2000). They suggest that it may be the case that the proposed model is not directly translated into time-domain difference equations but it is numerically inverse-Fourier transformed. If this were the case, the numerical process of inverse transformation at each solution step could become expensive and prone to error accumulation. They ask the original author to clarify the issues and provide some timings for time-domain transient simulations obtained with the EMTP (indicating which EMTP version is used) and with their proposed model. The original author replies to the comments.
