Abstract :
In an earlier paper, the author has discussed the linearity of the signal compared with the mean flow rate, for the Lehde-Lang induced-field flowmeter with low magnetic Reynolds numbers. In the present paper, numerical solutions are obtained which indicate that linearity will be retained with higher magnetic Reynolds numbers, flow distortion due to the magnetic field, and the use of alternating fields. Limits for the relevant parameters are suggested in the light of these calculations.
