Abstract :
The paper gives further experimental evidence to support a recent proposal that propagation by double reflection from an elevated layer may be a significant mechanism in v.h.f. transhorizon propagation. This evidence results from a study of the relationship between field strength over a 320km v.h.f. path and height of tropospheric layers determined from soundings made near the path centre.
