Abstract :
The pulse width evolution in fiber links concatenated by simple analog bit rate transparent optoelectronic repeaters is experimentally investigated, demonstrating transmission of pulses at 1.55 μm with stationary pulse width of 150 ps over 3600 km concatenated 60-km standard fiber links. The experiments agree well with simulations and theory.
