Abstract :
A generalisation of Pontryagin´s maximum principle for distributed, fixed-domain systems is stated. The canonical equations which yield the minimum-time control for linear systems with quadratic-control effort constraint are then derived. These equations are solved for a class of systems. Two particular systems are then considered, and a number of computed optimal responses are given.
