Abstract :
The purpose of this paper is to propose a novel idea exploiting the real-time capability of an acousto-optic cell-based Fourier transformer to reconstruct magnetic resonance images at fluoroscopic rates of 30 frames/s or more. The proposed systems are robust enough to reconstruct images for data acquired on a rectilinear grid (echo-planar) using a two-dimensional transformer or data acquired on a polar grid (spiral-scan, flower-scan) using a modified filtered back project ion algorithm.
