Abstract :
The purpose of this paper is to provide the relay engineer with a basic understanding of the physical and electrical characteristics of high voltage AC power cables, 115 kV and above, and how this applies to protective relaying. It also discuss the application of various protective schemes, together with the advantages and disadvantages associated with those schemes
