Study of the satellite/earth-station/domestic-receiver chain in a satellite system for television distribution

This study is a detailed evaluation of a satellite link, consisting of the downpath, the receiving earth station and the domestic television receiver, such as might be envisaged within the framework of an operational international system for distributing television programmes by satellite. Moreover, as an illustration, the paper discusses the application of the methods described to a satellite system for distributing television programmes covering Europe, North Africa and the Middle East, in conformity with the standards of quality defined by the CCIR.
