Abstract
Digital multimedia content are used in areas like education, entertainment, business, medical and military fields and also shared over the network for several purposes. The free access of images, videos and audios over the network provides the way to pirate the copyright material. Digital watermarking process prevents the illegal copy of the multimedia content by embedding a watermark to the content. In this paper dual domain digital image watermarking using additive approach is presented. A watermark is attached to the spatial domain of the image using additive approach. Then another watermark is added to the transformed coefficients of the spatially watermarked image using Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) with additive approach. The watermarked image is inspected for image distortion using Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR) and Normalized Correlation (NC) measures. The watermarking process embeds dual watermarks to increase the security of the cover image and helps towards ownership even if one watermark is degraded.
