Abstract :
To support high-definition television, the revision of DVB-T, the terrestrial digital video broadcasting standard, has recently been developed under the abbreviation DVB-T2. The provision of the anticipated high data rate services requires highly accurate synchronisation and frequency acquisition and tracking. Setting out from the procedure defined by the DVB-T2 implementation guidelines provided by the DVB-T2 standardisation community, a modified, yet implementation-friendly synchronisation algorithm has been developed. Simulation results show a similar performance for synchronisation and frequency offset estimation, as well as the detection of the signalling information contained in the preamble P1 with a significant reduction of the implementation complexity.
