Abstract :
The project discusses the function of the instrument SOFIE from NASA´s Satellite Mission Aeronomy of Ice in the Mesosphere. To understand its function, it is explained what the noctilucent clouds are, how they form and how the sensor studies and measures their properties. It is presented a differential equation for some of the variables that are involved in this mission using the data provided by SOFIE.
