Abstract :
Dimensionless parameters for the correlation of the characteristics of electric arcs moving in transverse magnetic fields are derived. Voltages and velocities of arcs moving along parallel copper electrodes are generalised in order to give an example of the possible use of the method. The generalised voltage/current characteristic is similar to that obtained for arcs burning in gas flows.
