Abstract

This paper deals with an extension card which upgrades a personal computer (PC) for the reception and processing of DVB (digital video broadcasting)compliant satellite signals. It includes the MPEG-2 decoding and the video representation in a window of the graphical user interface by means of a high quality video overlay technique. A variety of hardware and software interfaces allows the adaptation to a wide range of applications
