Abstract :
Numerical and analytical solutions of equations describing the transient performance of an induction motor are investigated. A digital-computer program is described for the numerical evaluation of the transient currents and torque following connection to the supply, and the components of the transients are investigated using an analytical method. Experimental measurements using a 3hp induction motor confirm the theoretical predictions.
