Abstract :
The paper reviews the work of the Extraordinary Administrative Radio Conference held at Geneva, 7th October¿8th November 1963, at which the frequency-allocation table, laid down at the Ordinary Administrative Radio Conference held at Geneva, 1959, was revised to provide frequency allocations for radionavigation-, meteorological- and communication-satellite services for space research and radio-astronomy. In addition, the Radio Regulations were amended to take account of the new space services. Reference is made to the preparatory work, the results achieved, the lessons of the conference and the future action that will need to be taken.
