Abstract :
Waveguide grating routers (WGRs) are shown to be dispersionless optical filters. A system experiment at a data rate of 10 Gbit/s confirms that the dispersive penalty due to such a filter is negligible. Furthermore, since WGRs are inherently linear phase filters, in principle, arbitrarily square and dispersionless filters may be designed
