Describes the implementation and impact of intranet technology at BT-the largest such network in Europe. Savings on communications have repaid the investment 15-fold and improved efficiency by 13%. There are over 2,000,000 pages. There is a facility for all employees to respond to ideas on company progress. There is access from offices, from home and from laptops. There are standards for navigation consistency, and procedures for keeping information up-to-date, relevant and concise.
