Abstract
Two canonical forms are derived for controllable linear time-invariant multivariable systems that can be decoupled by linear state-variable feedback (l.s.v.f.). These forms are used to determine the maximum number of closed-loop poles that can be preassigned while the system is simultaneously decoupled by l.s.v.f.
