Abstract
Being the first issue of 2011, I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year. We have just ushered in the Year of the Rabbit in the Lunar calendar and with this, I am reminded of a famous Aesop´s fable entitled ‘The Tortoise and the Hare’. Like the speed of the Hare, our current technological environment has progressed in leaps and bounds. But let us not forget the broad areas of technological advancements in security and defense as new issues emerge in today´s uncertain times.
