Abstract :
The structure of the jamming plus clutter covariance matrix is analysed in the context of space-time adaptive processing (STAP) for sideways-looking airborne radar. A bound on the rank of the matrix is derived under the assumption of idealised conditions. It is shown how the rank deficiency of the matrix can be exploited to derive simple, computationally efficient, processing solutions
