Abstract :
A cross-shaped ultra-wideband (UWB) bandpass filter (BPF) with a notched band and sharp skirt is presented. The basic UWB BPF is a cross-shaped resonator which comprises two shunt quarter-wavelength short-circuited stubs. Two quarter-wavelength embedded open stubs are used to create a narrow notched band at 8.0 GHz. The sharp skirt is realised by using two step-impedance open-circuited lines. Good insertion/return losses are achieved as demonstrated in both simulation and experiment.
