Abstract :
A finite element model, taking into account 3D effects, is presented and used to optimise the performance of a permanent magnet motor. An optimisation of magnetisation field direction inside the magnets is realised using the experimental design method applied to numerical simulation. The advantages of this method are discussed in comparison with direct methods
