Abstract
The paper considers the advantages which may be obtained by introducing pole-change windings into squirrel-cage induction-motor speed-control schemes employing stator-voltage variation. It is concluded that, in certain specified cases, a significant increase in the range of operation may be obtained for a given dissipation of rotor power.
