Abstract :
The limitations of the simple Bode criterion are now obvious, and the results of [3, 5, 6, 7] should no longer be used. Lopez, in Equation (2) has made a significant contribution: a simple formula that gives Fano values with good accuracy over a wide range of VSWR. However, his later formula and graph are incorrect. The corrected Bode criterion leads directly to the Fano result for an infinite number of matching sections, and to earlier results of Lopez.
