Abstract :
Following the successful conferences in Rouen in 2003 [1], in Barcelona in 2005 [2], and in Missouri in 2007 [3], the Fourth International Conference on Electromagnetic Near-Field Characterization and Imaging ICONIC2009 was held June 24–26, 2009, at the beautiful campus of the Oriental Institute of Technology, in Taipei, Taiwan. The event was organized by the Communication Technology Research and Development Center, the Oriental Institute of Technology, and Chaired by Prof. Dau-Chyrh Chang (Figure 1). The conference was sponsored by the IEEE IMS and AP-S, the IEEE AP-S/EMC/MTT Taipei Chapter, the Ministry of Education, the National Science Council, Meetings Exhibitions Events Travel, the Instrument Technology Research Center, and the Yu-Ziang Hsu Science and Technology Memorial Foundation. Organized on a two-year basis, the ICONIC series of conferences provides an international home for near-field specialists worldwide.
