Abstract :
This paper presents the use of GPR for monitoring of an underground coal gasification process. The GPR data are used for monitoring a cavern development, which is one of the most important parameter influencing the efficiency of the process. The georadar data were collected during UCG experiments in the way which allows reconstruction of the cavern shape. Besides GPR data acquisition the numerical simulations are performed. Method for cavern reconstruction as well as visualization of GPR data along with model prediction were developed. The dedicated software for this purpose was implemented.
