Abstract :
A simple yet effective way of wavelength stabilization using a fiber grating, which can provide highly precise reference wavelength, is proposed. This fiber grating has another advantage of temperature stability using simple athermal packaging. By adopting a level detection technique, this study removed the complex electronics which accompanies usual stabilization circuits. The proposed scheme was successfully applied to lock the wavelengths of both a distributed-feedback laser diode and an electroabsorption modulator integrated laser diode to their reference values.
