  • Abstract
For the original article see ibid., vol.24, no.12, p.1723-8, (1984). The author asserted that the circuit configuration of a regenerative frequency divider employing a modulator with a parallel-feedback amplifier instead of load resistors is novel. The commenter gives citations to prove that similar results have been published earlier. In reply, Ichino indicates that the circuit has a new feature, i.e. the inclusion of emitter followers in the parallel feedback path, which increases the gain and bandwidth of the transimpedance amplifier. A further purpose was to provide an analytic explanation and simulation results on top of experimental proof for why a frequency divider having this configuration can operate up to the limits of the transistors
