Abstract :
There have been many recent developments in the design and analysis of segmented-rotor reluctance motors but no convenient method of allowing for the effects of saturation has been published. The paper presents a method of analysis based upon the simplifying assumption of a limiting value of radial airgap flux density. It is shown that, by means of the method presented, experimentally observed saturation effects may be predicted.
