Abstract
For more than fifteen years, SERTIT has been developing a Rapid Mapping Service using Earth Observation remote sensing data to provide a rapid response to various organizations in case of natural or man-made disasters. As a value added provider SERTIT is used to closely collaborate since the beginning of emergency mapping with different partners, in particular with the CNES, the French space agency, to improve the whole geo-information production chain in order to better address end user needs. The continuous optimization of SERTIT´s processes was validated and recognized with an ISO 9001 certification of its Rapid Mapping Service in 2011. This certification is also helping SERTIT to improve by developing new methods and by standardizing existing processes.
