Abstract :
Mobile communication devices are now truly ubiquitous and as such they are the ideal tool for research in human social relationships. Using only smartphones with customized operating systems and with no prior knowledge about the participants, we show that it is possible to accurately infer the existence of social ties between mobile phones users in a U.K. high school.
